Those lovely peeps at Macheist have released the MAC GIVING TREE. Sign up to their mailing list and you get access to two free apps. Come christmas morning there will be a load more free ones (no idea what they are yet!) and if at least two of your friends sign up you get another two.
Enjoy!

A few posts back I talked about fontifier, which in itself is very good. Thanks to the wonderful Doreen, it turns out there is a very similar service that is free! yes free!…
As with fontifier you print and fill in the template send it back and shablaaaaam…..your writing in font form….
Exquisite freebie!

I never thought I would be saying this, but I actually found myself excited about this website…….its very dour and plain exterior doesn’t reflect its eternal usefullness. Now I dont know much about anything web designery, and that means all of my websites are made in iWeb (which I simply love by the way). Now normally an iWeb website requires no coding knowledge, but to leverage all the funky extras that I have talked about over the past three months, some HTML is very helpful.
This website has tutorials for nearly every web technology. Its arranged in small sections so you can head straight for what floats your boat.
Fill your brain!

Venue M Have unceremoniously decided to terminate everybodies account with very short notice and citing that they are “concentrating on native apps”….Poor form VenueM, POOR FORM!
I was looking for a way to optimise bigmacblog for iPhone and Android users, hopefully to make it load quicker and give a generally better viewing expeirence.
I think I found a way.

VenueM is a free web service where you enter your RSS feed address, fill in a few fields etc and Schblamo! An instant iPhone styled website……most excellent!

Hey all,
Just thought I would point you in the direction of Abduzeedo, a great blog with tips, tricks and tutorials for photoshop, fireworks and (my fav) Pixelmator…
Some of the effects covered are stunning. I just made the ones below in 3 minutes…..and I know NOTHING!

Picturesque is an image editor tailored to those who want some of those snazzy mac effects such as reflections, 3d perspective and rounded corners etc.
It is not free like most of my posts but because of its ease of use and general coolness I thought I would post it anyway…

Readair is a Google Reader application created on the Adobe Air platform, which means its fast, slick and cross platform.
Its really nice and simple and is a great environment for catching up on all those RSS feeds that you have mounting up!
This one is a neat little app that allows you to record and upload straightaway to you your youtube account, very useful for those habitual Vloggers out there…

I just stumbled across iTweak, a free application that gives you the chance to add favicons, hit counters, google site search fields and more to your lowly iWeb website.
It seems pretty simple to use and gives iWeb some pretty nifty functionality. Guess well have to wait to see if any of this will be included in the next iteration of iWeb but until then, check it out.

Have you ever wanted to use your own handwriting when creating a document or producing some graphics work?
Fontifier does this for you and for a very reasonable $9 per font created!
The process is simple, you download a template, write in each characters equivalent, scan it, and email back to fontifier which will produce the font as a Truetype font usable with Mac and Windows operating system….
EDITOR UPDATE: THIS TIP HAS BEEN SURPASSED BY YOURFONT – CHECKOUT NEWER BLOG ARTICLE ON YOURFONT FOR A FREE FONT CREATION SERVICE….

Widemail is the answer to many a mac users mail woes. Most of us these days use a screen that is Widescreen and as such the traditional way of using mail on a mac isnt that suitable. Widemail places the mail list and the mail selected side by side as well as giving you many customisation options.
Of course its also FREE.

Audiko is a web based service where you can upload your mp3, cut it and make it into a ringtone. The bonus being that it will create a .m4r file for all you iPhone lovers out there (me included)…. Another great thing about Audiko is you can download other peoples creations….An endless source of iPhone Ringtones…..Hooorah!

Wallsaver – Display your screensaver as your desktop background using wallsaver.
This application is really impressive when couple with quartz compositions. Such as these ones here

FluidTunes….perhaps the most pointless iTunes application but also perhaps one of the most interesting and fun.
Fluid tunes is a bit like the eyetoy games on Playstation in that it detects your movement through the isight on your mac and allows you to flick through iTunes coverflow and select song, its very basic, but certainly worth a look. This could be the start of something good.
